Great things are happening at First Baptist Carrollton and we are making big strides towards our Imagine goals.
Lives are being changed each week and we are thankful that we get to be a part of it! We’ve used many different programs and activities to reach people with the message of Christ.
- Our children and student ministries have seen 85 kids accept Christ this year.
- Our Worship Arts ministry saw six people accept Christ at Hark! and hundreds of people attended the receptions.
- Our Christmas Store served over 391 families and saw 112 people make a profession of faith.
- We began the PLACE class to help participants develop their spiritual gifts and use them in significant service for God’s glory.
We are continuing to work closely with families to equip them to be the center of spiritual growth in their homes.
- Our Ignite Your Faith classes have been designed with today’s issues in mind, offering classes on handling finances, bridging the gap between the church and the community, strengthening your spiritual life, and much more.
- Our Ignite Kids program has been improved and restructured to better meet the needs of the children involved and their families.
- Our deacons have focused their efforts on ministering to the widows in our church and supporting them faithfully.
Our church is changing right before our eyes and it is an exciting time to be a part of what is happening at First Baptist Carrollton. There are so many things taking place on our Josey campus, as well as the launch of Church at The Fields.
- Last year, we baptized 85 people and we have seen almost 200 people baptized since the Imagine campaign launched.
- We passed out over 4,000 flyers to surrounding neighborhoods to promote the opening of the new building.
- We have over 150 people preparing to transition to The Fields and launch Church at The Fields on Easter Sunday.
Over the past three years, we have given more than $300,000 to build a school to care for those living in the area God has assigned us. Although many we work with have never heard about Jesus Christ, we believe that one day this will be a place where God’s name will be made known.
- Members of our team traveled this past summer to the grand opening of the school.
- We’ve provided support and resources for two people to relocate into a free country.
- And, to help support missions all over the world, we have given over $142,000 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
As a part of Imagine, we’ve set a goal to grow our Wayne & Theresa Allen Endowment Fund to two million dollars. We believe that this fund will help to support ministries for generations at First Baptist Carrollton and all over the world. Watch this helpful video that explains how the fund works and how it is already benefitting this church in incredible ways.

About a month ago, on Sunday, May 4, Dr. Taylor began his new sermon series Moses: How God Shapes Leaders. His sermon titled, Great Visions spoke of the great things God can do with our lives and in our church if we will let Him and act in obedience to His call. Dr. Taylor took this opportunity to outline the great visions we have as a church through the Imagine initiative. Here is the video from the service that day. Watch this video and imagine what God can do when we are obedient to Him.
Today marks the two-year anniversary since the passing of Dr. Wayne Allen. Dr. Allen led First Baptist Carrollton for 34 1/2 years and was not only a great pastor, but a role model for the Christian life. His vision led our church to where we are today and his legacy lives on in our congregation. Dr. Allen was a man of great dreams and convictions. Our influence in this community and around the world is largely due to the leadership demonstrated by Dr. Allen.
As we think about Imagine, I can’t help but think how pleased Dr. Allen was about the goals associated. He believed the greatest days for our church were in front of us and Imagine helps to spell out how we will, by the Lord’s help, make those dreams a reality.
We stand on the shoulders of great leaders who have gone before us. Now it is our turn to carry the torch and continue to proclaim the Gospel until Christ’s return. Today we honor a great servant of the Lord by remembering the life of Dr. Allen, yet we also honor him by looking ahead to the future and imagining all God will do through First Baptist Carrollton.
The Best is yet to come!

Our Discover Class meets again this Monday night. What a great success this class has been in helping new and prospective members understand more about who we are as a church. Throughout the year, many of our new members have joined while attending the Discover Class. If you know someone who is considering joining First Baptist Carrollton, invite them to come to this class. Better yet, bring them with you. You never know what you might learn about the church.
The class meets monthly and dinner and child-care are provided. Click here to view the upcoming schedule and to make a reservation.
2013 was a great year at First Baptist Carrollton. Just in the last two months of the year alone we had over 100 salvations! These life-changing decisions were made during events we hosted that were specifically designed to reach our community for Christ. In November, our special service, My Hope with Billy Graham, prompted 46 people to pray to receive Christ. In December, our Two from Galilee performances saw 23 people profess faith in Christ. And that same week, at our annual Christmas Store, we had 32 people asked Jesus into their hearts. These are incredible numbers! But even more than that, we rejoice in seeing the Lord work in the lives of people through the obedience of members of our church. It is humbling to see that those decisions were made in a span of only six weeks. What a great experience it is to see what God can do when we get on board with His plan. Imagine what can happen when we focus our attention on sharing the Gospel year-round!
On Sunday, February 2, our church will host Game Day. This service is another chance to bring people to the Lord. On Game Day, we will show another video, put together by the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, called Defining Moments. If you’d like to know more about Defining Moments you can watch the trailer here. We saw such great results in November that we wanted to offer the opportunity again for people to invite others to hear the Gospel message. We will also have a special time of baptism for those who made decisions for Christ at the November My Hope event.
Don’t miss this chance to add more names to the Kingdom this year. Let 2014 show us to be faithful to the Lord in telling people about the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, September 8, we celebrated our one-year anniversary of Imagine. Watch this video to see a recap of what God has done over this past year.
